Más allá de la terapia: la estimulación multisensorial como práctica socioeducativa inclusiva

Resumen
La estimulación multisensorial, especialmente mediante salas Snoezelen, ha demostrado ser una herramienta eficaz para el alumnado con necesidades educativas especiales (NEE). Sin embargo, su implementación en España se concentra mayoritariamente en centros especializados, generando desigualdades en el acceso. Este estudio presenta una revisión narrativa integrativa basada en el análisis de 58 artículos publicados entre 2008 y 2025 en las bases de datos de Scopus, ERIC y Web of Science. El objetivo es examinar cómo la familia y la escuela actúan como mediadores en el acceso a estos recursos, condicionados por el capital cultural y las políticas educativas.
La revisión, sustentada en el marco conceptual de Bourdieu sobre capital cultural, analiza la reproducción de desigualdades estructurales cuando las oportunidades de estimulación multisensorial dependen del contexto socioeconómico familiar y del tipo de centro educativo. Asimismo, se realiza un análisis detallado de las condiciones necesarias para que estos recursos tengan efectos compensatorios significativos, incluyendo la formación profesional requerida, los modelos de coordinación de la comunidad educativa y la evidencia cuantitativa documentada en los estudios revisados sobre beneficios en dominios motores, cognitivos, conductuales y sensoriales.
