Abstract
University of Cadiz, which was created by law on 30 October 1979, has a history of higher studies dating back to 1748, when it was established in the Royal Hospital of the city, the Royal College of Medicine and Surgery of the Navy. Already in the nineteenth century were established teaching of Teaching and Commerce, which, along with other educational institutions, some of ephemeral life, as a Faculty of Pharmacy, provide the Archive of the UCA with a rich documentation. not limited to that generated by the university itself.
