Introducción

Abstract

Guatemala es un país en resistencia. Una pequeña nación en el istmo centroamericano con casi diecisiete millones de habitantes que comparten una historia convulsa y traumática. Sus 108.889 kilómetros cuadrados de superficie montañosa albergan veinticinco etnias de las cuales, veintidós tienen origen maya y el resto se dividen en ladina, xinca y garífuna, cada una con su propio idioma. Guatemala es, por tanto, un país de una diversidad absoluta donde lo cultural alimenta la complejidad social de la sociedad guatemalteca.   Palabras clave: igualdad, derechos, resistencia,cultura, contexto social.   Introduction   Abstract:Guatemala is a country in resistance. A small nation in the Central American isthmus with almost seventeen million inhabitants who share a troubled and traumatic history. Its 108,889 square kilometers of mountainous surface are home to twenty-five ethnic groups, of which twenty-two have Mayan origin and the rest are divided into Ladino, Xinca and Garífuna, each with its own language. Guatemala is, therefore, a country of absolute diversity where culture feeds the social complexity of Guatemalan society.
