Abstract

The finding of a particular perforated stone bead in the excavation of the sepulchral ensemble of the Azefal-9/1 Megatumulus (Western Sahara) has promoted the mineralogical characterization of the specimen in order to trace its geological origin. Possibly associated with grave goods from a protohistoric period, the non-destructive physico-chemical methodology applied to the analysis of the piece has made it possible to link its composition of mineralogical aggregate with the metamorphic materials of the Dorsal del Tiris, in the same geographical context in which the archaeological monument is located.
