An introduction to the spanish steamship river navigation projects in 19th century

Abstract

The historical changes that happens in Spain during the 18th Century had a great influence not only in politics and society of the moment but also in the commercial view because of the new burocratic sistem that comes with the First Industrial Revolution. In this article we are going to see how some characters of the age as a brigadier or spanish or outlanders businessmen were concern for a modern inside comunicative sistem by rivers based on steamboat, trhough spanish river navigation projects by steamboat in the 19th Century for the Guadalquivir, Ebro and Tajo rivers.
