Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the process of protection and safeguarding of cultural heritage in Argentina, placing emphasis on its institutionalization and on some protection tools such as the regulatory framework, its registration and the allocation of resources during the period 2015-2023. The analysis is based on secondary and documented sources. We pose that the progress in cultural heritage safeguarding was achieved at the expense of certain “law inflation”, due to the multiplicity of rules, regulations and protocols and the lack of a proportional advance in budget allocation or seeking of specific resources for this purpose.
