La alternativa del mecenazgo

Abstract

La vida cultural española se ha visto más que afectada, zarandeada por la crisis. Es cierto que nadie pensaba que la cultura quedaría al margen de la misma, en algún tipo de paraíso o mantenida en una ucronía donde nunca se notaran las crisis económicas o de otro tipo. Pero la realidad es que con casi toda probabilidad algunas medidas e iniciativas públicas no han hecho más que agravar su difícil y precaria situación. No hablamos sólo de la dura subida del IVA cultural, importante y dura, sino también de los cientos de iniciativas de todos los niveles de gobierno y administración pública de nuestro país que se han encaminado a empequeñecer la apuesta de lo público por lo cultural. La realidad es que los dineros para el arte y la cultura escasean y muchas miradas se han vuelto hacia las fórmulas de mecenazgo como una de las posibles salidas a la situación. Abstract: Spanish cultural life has been more than affected, shaken by the crisis.
It is true that no one thought that culture would be left out of it, in some kind
of paradise or kept in an uchrony where economic or other crises were never noticed.
But the reality is that in almost all probability some public measures and initiatives
have only aggravated their difficult and precarious situation. We are not talking only
about the strong increase in cultural VAT, important and tough, but also about the
hundreds of initiatives from all levels of government and public administration in
our country that have been aimed at dwarfing the public's commitment to culture.
The reality is that money for art and culture is scarce and many eyes have turned to
patronage formulas as one of the possible solutions to the situation.
