Abstract

Cuenta un autor de solvencia reconocida que los antiguos Fenicios gaditanos tenían erigido un altar al arte. Este pueblo civilizador y viajero consideraba el arte digno de adoración y de ser reconocido socialmente. Pero lo más curioso e interesante para nosotros consiste en el hecho de que entendían el arte como consuelo de la pobreza.

Abstract: An author of recognized solvency tells that the ancient Phoenicians of Cadiz had erected an altar to art. This civilizing and traveling people considered art worthy of worship and of being socially recognized. But the most curious and interesting thing for us consists in the fact that they understood art as a consolation for poverty.
