Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the historical evolution of prehistoric archeology in the Maghreb, from its origins to the time of World War II. We emphasize and pay special attention to the aspects related to ideology in its formulation, which was directly influenced by colonialism characteristic of the period.Keywords
