Abstract
The gradual acknowledgement of Gadir in the historiography has suffered from a string of trials because of the turn of predominant ideology in Franco’s estate. In this process there are several facts which have become definitive: the embodiment of scientific historiography in the 50’s, the “revolution of the land archaeologists” at the end of the 60’s and the breakdown with cultural historicism, difusionism and neopositivism thanks to the critical archaeology of this new century.
