Abstract

The site of El Retamar is one of the most interesting outdoor settlements of the Ancient Neolithic in the context of the Campiña Litoral and Banda Atlántica de Cádiz. After its excavation and study, it counted on a first systematic work and with several publications. The human bone registry retrieved from the site was the subject of an anthropological analysis that is taken up in this work. In this sense, we have analized the MNI, the sex and age and their paleopathologies. The results of the analysis of those points allowed to reach a better understanding of the burial practices and the complexity in the treatment of the dead and their connection with the recurrent use of certain sectors of the landscape.
