Abstract
Since 1810 in Cadiz, the opposition of the Cortes led to the constitutional principles of freedom press. These events, in the nineteenth century, started in Spain a first step towards a free and independent nation. Subsequently was promulgated the ‘Pepa’ (March 19, 1812). In the same period, the Sicilian press widely reported these important historical facts, giving great prominence to the constitutional developments of Cadiz. The aim of this work is to study and reconstruct the contribution that the Sicilian press on that period gave to the disclosure of constitutionalism in the nineteenth century.
