Abstract
El Observador Político y Militar de España came out of the Valencian press of Miguel Domingo on the 1st of July 1809. Its eighteen issues appeared fortnightly, always keeping the same publishing editorial line. It was not antiliberal nor counterrevolucionary. As a patriot and defender of Ferdinand VII, as it was the rule, defended Spain’s regeneration, its unity and a political system appropriate to the times and being of the Spaniards. The problems of the war led the newspaper to cut its content off and change its name to El Observador Moral, Politico y Militar de la Corona de Aragón.
