Abstract

If the University's etymological origin lies in the universal, what better forum to discuss everything with everyone than within the University itself? However, this must be done with the utmost respect. Insults and trivialization are unacceptable. In this opinion piece, the author invites reflection, and does so through self-reflection, which enriches and nourishes the text. The focus is on the Cádiz Carnival, and the subject matter is what is up for debate. We are engaged in an exercise of understanding and of conveying understanding/ what to talk about: a destiny, an identity, and ultimately, where is the Carnival headed?
