Abstract

The version of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is directed by Antonio Labajo and Blanca Puente. In relation to the dramaturgy there are several novel aspects that make this comedy an adaptation to our times, even though it takes place in a timeless vein. All the events take place in the surroundings of the Parque Genovés in Cádiz, although it could well be the surroundings of any park. An adaptation that respects the original text although, certainly, some licences are allowed in order to adjust to modern times and, equally, to generate a greater understanding on the part of all audiences.
