60th Anniversary of Resolution 2065 (XX) on the question of the Malvinas/Falkland Islands

Abstract
This article examines the legal validity of UN General Assembly Resolution 2065 (XX) on the Question of the Malvinas/Falkland Islands, sixty years after its adoption. It analyses the resolution as a cornerstone of the UN decolonization framework for this matter, recognizing the existence of a sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom and establishing the solution of the dispute as the sole legitimate means to end this special and particular colonial situation. The article argues that Resolution 2065 (XX) remains the authoritative legal framework governing the dispute.
