Abstract

Our goal is to present a proposal on the way of life juigrepa. About this society of yuman language of Lower California is known its tribal name, the geographical location of its ethnic territory as well as some minimal reference, compiled in two ethnographic monographs. In 1989, we recorded a set of archaeological sites in canyons of the eastern slope of Saint Peter Martyr Mountain Range (SSPM, because the name in Spanish), in a step of San Felipe Mountain Range (SSF, because the name in Spanish) and south of San Felipe Bay (BSF, because the name in Spanish), where we locate significant archaeological evidence. In the present study, we analysed the archaeological record of the Agua Caliente Canyon, which is integrated into the hydraulic network of Valle Chico (VCh, because the name in Spanish), that after crossing the SSF by the Huatamote Canyon, flows to the south of BSF. If the ethnographic information is correct, this area is a part of the juigrepa territory.
