Abstract

In this paper we approach funerary practices in the Bay of Cádiz between the 6th and 4th millennium BC in order to understand the economic and social transformations of tribal communities during the Neolithic and early Copper Age. We take as a reference three important sites in the area, El Retamar, Campo de Hockey and La Esparragosa, places with information on the changes in the burial rituals and way of life of these societies.
