Abstract

Within the campaign to recover the scientific, historical, patrimonial, social and personal memory of the first director of the Central Meteorological Institute (current State Meteorological Agency-AEMET) and the first official meteorologist of the Spanish state, Mr. Augusto Teodoro Arcimis Werle from Cádiz, this article aims to be a demand with which to achieve the restoration of his figure and the rescue of his mortal remains, which are about to disappear into the nothingness of a mass grave. In the same way that in 2024 a campaign was carried out with which it was possible to recover the human remains of the illustrious, essential, venerated and almost unknown Mr. Eduardo Benot Rodríguez (at the same time that a series of events and tributes were carried out to publicize his historical relevance and his work), from this tribune a request is made to the competent institutions (Cádiz City Council, the management company of the Bahía de Cádiz Joint Cemetery S.A.-CEMABASA and State Meteorological Agency-AEMET) take charge of the recovery of the mortal remains and disseminate the figure of the father of Spanish institutional meteorology.
