Abstract

The Financing of Political Parties in Morocco, in the Light of the Legislation and Constitutional Jurisprudence

Abstract: The political parties are vital institutions in contemporary democracies. The issue of financing political life is the backbone of any political system. This article examines the legal framework determining the conditions of state participation in funding political parties in the parliamentary elections and the criteria of distribution of allocations awarded by the State and control over the allocated means. The article refers in its development to the Moroccan Constitutional Council's jurisprudence regarding an important point introduced to the Electoral Code, namely the capping of election expenses.
