Las universidades patrimoniales en el contexto internacional y nacional

Abstract

Throughout their history, universities, especially the oldest ones, have accumulated a wide and varied cultural heritage, both of a tangible and intangible nature. They have actively participated in the intellectual, social and cultural transformations in their respective societies, building identities and processes of deep significance. This is why university heritage is an essential part of culture, especially for the university community, since heritage universities treasure valuable information related to the traditions and symbolic events that have taken place on their premises. The Cuban university community joins in this work, as it has much to show and safeguard. Through the practices of university cultural heritage management, the importance given by the country, and in particular by the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) to this activity as part of Cuban heritage management is revealed, thus encouraging Cuban universities to protect their val
