Abstract

Born in Barcelona in 1945, Ramón Benedito is a product designer of international relevance and extensive career that has developed his career in parallel to the emergence and consolidation of industrial design in Spain. For this professional trajectory he received the National Design Award in 1992.

Since 1973, after founding the Benedito Design studio together with graphic designer Maite Prat, he has collaborated with international companies from the most diverse productive sectors. During these 49 years, his work has been characterized by reflecting the cultural and technical evolution of society. The author has also developed an intense teaching activity and has lectured in many countries. He has been president of the Board of Directors of ADI FAD (Fomento de las Artes y el Diseño). In 2010 he was appointed General Director of the Fundación Privada Elisava Escuela Universitaria, and in 2017 he was elected President of the Board of Trustees of this Institution.
