Abstract
The purpose research is to inquire the process of acquisition reading habits and literary reading practices of future Language and Literature teachers while they are enrolled in a teacher training program. This is due to the fact that it is a segment that has not been studied much and the works in this line have been mainly devoted to characterizing the reading formation of future teachers of early childhood and elementary education, discarding future teachers of language and literature, since their avid reading activity is assumed. However, some studies in this line have shown that the relationship that these future teachers have with reading is complex, mainly because they do not have consolidated reading habits, their readings tend to be pigeonholed and in turn they have few reading practices. That is why in this paper we propose to describe the most relevant aspects of the research that will allow us to approach the study of the reading habits and practices of future language and literature teachers in order to establish guidelines for their initial teacher training.
