Abstract
Durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, la economía y la política de Cuba se encontraban bajo el control de un sector social compuesto, en su mayoria, por comerciantes de origen peninsular que habían estabecido entre ellos vínculos sociales, económicos, políticos y familiares.
