Abstract
A study of the road that crossed Morocco from south to north in the late Middle Ages,
linking Marrakech to Ceuta via Rabat and Sale, based on the scrutiny of the information provided by
the works of al-Idrīsī, Ibn Ṣāḥib al-Ṣalāt, Ibn ˁIḏārī, in addition to many other sources, gives place to
an attempt to reconstruct the landscape and the rural settlements of medieval Morocco.
