The new language policy model in Morocco and the legislation underpinning it

Abstract
legislation on which this policy is founded. In order to do so, in the first section the measures and practices carried out within this linguistic policy in the Moroccan State will be described in detail. This description will lead to a critical discourse analysis of the policy itself. The second section will proceed with a critical analysis of several extracts belonging to the dominant, official and institutional discourse. These discursive extracts share the theme of how languages and identities are assessed while legitimating the model of linguistic policy proposed. Finally, some conclusions and change proposals will be offered.
