The prince Mawlāy Sulaymān is establishing his control over Morocco since 1792 until 1797. This year he finds an obs tacle for achieving his plans: in January 1797 the governors of the 'Abda and Dukkāla provinces declare their support to prince Mawlāy Ḥusayn . This support continues until September 1797 when these two governors accept Mawlāy Sulaymān as their Sovereign. At the beginning of 1798 Mawlāy Ḥusayn also accepts Mawlāy Sulaymān as his Sovereign.
