Abstract

Medina Elvira was the most important town of Ilbira's land during the IX and X Centuries. We can find several references in the texts but actually arqueological remains have given a lot of interesting and fundamental news about this topic. Manuel Gómez Moreno's researches have been complemented with other recent findings such as pottery and metal materials as shown in this article. The roman, visigotic and arabian remains have been taken in the prospections and on place. Among those materials we remark the post, large carthen jars. pit chers, oil lamps, bricks, etc., and among metal material we can find buttons, bruckles, rings, nails, needles, spearheads, made of brass, silver and cooper. The iron was used in agricultural and handcraft tools.
