Abstract

In this article, we describe the intervention of Dr. José de Masdevall from Figueras (who died in Trujillo in 1801) in the medical treatment given to the Moroccan monarch Muley Solimán by order of Charles IV. This took place when plague broke out in the neighbouring North-African country between 1799 and 1800
