La normalización de las relaciones entre el árabe y el catalán: Un proyecto tan sólo iniciado
Info
Abstract
The islamic presence in Catalan speaking territories lasted until the expulsion of the moorish (1609-1614). However, their process of acculturation took place in a faster way than in other peninsular areas. The progressive adoption of the autochthonous romance language by the muslims postponed the normalization of relations between the arabic language and the catalan. From the medieval catechistic initiatives to the last educational proposal of teaching the arabic language through catalan, a long way has been done, though the global results seem to be limited.
