Abstract
This article focuses on two essential points. On the one hand, it analyses the different definitions given to the post of Ṣāḥib al-Aḥkām in al-Andalus. On the other hand, it underlines the characteristics of this institution, its contribution to the andalusi judicial administration and its evolution in the Almoravid period.
