Évaluation de la compétence pragmatique dans les maladies neurodégénératives: défis théoriques et méthodologiques

Résumé
L’altération de la compétence pragmatique fait partie de la symptomatologie primaire de nombreux états cliniques liés au neurodéveloppement (p.ex., le trouble du spectre autistique), aux troubles acquis (p.ex., les lésions de l’hémisphère droit) ou aux maladies neurodégénératives (p.ex., la démence fronto-temporale). Il n’est pas rare non plus d’enregistrer son atteinte secondaire, dérivée d’altérations d’autres niveaux linguistiques, tels que lexical-sémantique (p.ex., la maladie d’Alzheimer). L’étude de cette déficience se heurte toutefois à un certain nombre de difficultés théoriques (ce que l’on entend par unités d’analyse pragmatique) et méthodologiques (comment étudier ces unités et évaluer leur degré de déficience). L’objectif de cet article est d’offrir une perspective critique sur les principaux défis de l’étude de la compétence pragmatique dans les maladies neurodégénératives, en particulier la maladie d’Alzheimer, en se concentrant sur trois points: la variabilité des positions théoriques, la variabilité des approches méthodologiques, et le rôle masquant des stratégies compensatoires.
