Abstract

The importance of light, not only for human beings, but for each living being is depicted by the fact of having greater performance during the daylight hours. However, without artificial lighting, life, as it is known nowadays, would not be possible. Yet is adapted lighting to people’s needs well valued? Actually, choosing the correct enlightenment may not be easy, but really important. Moreover, it is common to find designs which do not match the real user needs and desires. Many companies did not test their ideas in the belief that they could break into the market. Nevertheless, the reality was quite different. Thus, it is critical to know and understand the user of the products and services which are being designed. Investing in user research could make the difference in the long term with products fitting their needs. Therefore, the aim of this work is to design a luminaire that satisfies user needs and desires by following creative methods to approach people. These techniques will lead to offer an original and interesting final product design for the user.
