NEGOTIATION, SOLIDARITY AND RESISTANCE IN THE SHIPYARDS OF CADIZ. AN APPROACH TO THE RÍO TINTO OIL TANKER AS A SCENARIO OF WORKERS' STRUGGLE

Abstract
After the death of the dictator, the gradual replacement of the state structure made it possible to establish a new political and economic horizon in Spain. From a system with political freedom and legal guarantees came, on the contrary, a full approach to the doctrines of economic liberalism. In this context, the Cadiz Shipyards became one more of those companies whose workers jumped into the void to protect and improve their jobs. Between May and June 1983, the workers of this industrial enclave were the protagonists of an episode of resistance together with an unexpected ally: the oil tanker Río Tinto.
