Abstract

The organization of different sports participation and sports promotion events is an ideal framework to understand the profile of volunteering as a key element in the management of these activities. This work focuses on the psychosocial definition of the sports volunteer to provide notions of the adequacy of the necessary profiles in the sports field through indicators such as age, sex, area of preferred participation, sports practice and permanence in other fields of volunteering. We consider that managing volunteering means working with procedures that allow following common guidelines and criteria, useful in all phases of volunteering for any entity.
