Educación superior y desigualdades profesionales basadas en el género en la docencia y la investigación: algunas vertientes estructurales como muestra

Abstract

The structural imbalances based on the gender in the High Education as a sector of the productive formal activity act as a reply of the disadvantage that affects the women on the labor market in general and the working conditions in particular. To support this reality, the present study analyzes some slopes of this situation of both horizontal and vertical segregation, with contribution of quantitative information. From a selective perspective, statistics can show sufficiently illustrative evidences in aspects as crucial as the presence
according to sex in the different scientific fields; the type of job; the distribution according to professional scales; and finally the relation between the maternity and the professional scale. Finally, this analysis presents some considerations about the present challenges and the tools that can help to their consecution.
