Conditions for an Islamo-Christian dialogue in 21st century Europe
Info
Abstract
This article speculates about the factors conditioning a dialogue between Islam and Christianity in present-day Europe. It starts with a creative concept of dialogue as an exchange of ideas and feelings. The constituent elements of such a dialogue (its participants, its subject, its purpose, its setting) are put forward as conditioning factors. This leads to a practical approach that takes into account the political situation as reflected in the media and the need to live together. The core idea of the conclusions is that this dialogue can only be fruitful when it limits itself to a dialogue between individuals that share the same material situation.
