The novel, new Arab poetry

Abstract
The rise of the novel also arrived to Arabic Literature. At the end of the XX century the novel became one of the most prestigious genres, and took over the traditional predominance of Poetry. A variety of cultural and political factors contributed to this change in the aesthetic canon.
