Abstract
The connection between the Canary Islands and North Africa is not recent. At the beginning of the Renaissance, their geographical proximity made these islands the target of the European explorers in the Atlantic Ocean. In this way, the islands became the ideal place that made it easier for them to go to the neighbouring continent. This close relationship is often reflected on the most common human traditions such as their costumes. That is why, in this work, we shall try to study the common features that exist in the traditional costumes of both the Canary Islands and de North of Africa in an attempt to make a small contribution to the understanding of the history of both countries.
