Resumen

En el presente artículo analizamos qué capacidades y conocimientos lingüísticos entran en juego en la interpretación de enunciados humorísticos. Nos centramos en los chistes creados a partir de ambigüedades léxicas. De no conocer el destinatario del texto las diferentes acepciones que entran en juego en este tipo de textos y de no ser capaz de establecer una conexión entre ambas acepciones en un lapso de tiempo inferior a 400 milisegundos, el proceso de interpretación resultará fallido. Ambos requisitos, el conocimiento de los diferentes significados, por un lado, y la capacidad de establecer esta rápida conexión, por otro, son posibles para sujetos con una elevada competencia léxico-semántica. De esta manera, consideramos que una prueba válida y fiable que incluyera textos de estas características podría resultar una herramienta útil en la determinación de la competencia léxico-semántica de hablantes no nativos de una lengua, en general y del español, en particular.
