Epigraphic alternations on Almoravid coins

Abstract
Se describen tres alternancias en las leyendas de las monedas almorávides, relativas a 1) el término árabe con la referencia 'año', 2) la extensión de la fórmula de encabezamiento de textos y 3) la ortografía del nombre de Granada. Además de abordarlas desde la perspectiva de la historia del árabe culto, y de plantear la posible influencia externa de los alfaquíes, las consideramos indicios de un estado de transición en la historia de la numismática árabe, generado en lo que llamamos esencialismo.
