Abstract
"Ibn Ṣāra de Santarem's poems about fire". In this paper I have tried to introduce a poet from al-Andalus, Ibn Ṣāra al-Shantarīnī (d. 1123), and after making some remarks about his life and the genres he excelled in, namely satyre, I analyse five of his poems describing fire-places and embers, where there is a progressive identification between fire/hell (al-nār) and garden/paradise (al-ŷanna).
