Abstract
This article is a new approach to the Āṯār al-bilād of the Persian al-Qazwīnī. As an example of encyclopaedic literature of his time, it analyses the content and form of the texts dedicated to locations on the western coast of al-Andalus. Through the texts analysed, the author’s intention is studied, as well as his particular vision of the historical phenomenon of al-Andalus, which he wishes to keep united within the framework of the classical Arab world.
