Abstract
Taking as its starting point the seminal studies by Manuel Seco, amplified recently by the important findings of Sandra Iglesia Martín, the present text studies the main characteristics of the Diccionario nacional o Gran diccionario clásico de la lengua española by Ramón Joaquín Domínguez. This lexicographical (and encyclopaedic) listing often distances itself from the principle of lexicographical objectivity in favour of a critical, humorous attitude which has in its sights the Royal Spanish Academy and its dictionary.
