Language attitudes in Costa Rica during the 19th Century
Abstract
This work aims at showing those attitudes on language spread during the 19th century in Costa Rica, and not only about Grammar, but also about the consideration of the Costa Rican way of speaking as a (non) variety of Spanish. These aspects were related to the philosophical, cultural and philological ideas developed in such an environment. In order to achieve this goal we used different types of documents and, especially, newspapers.
