Abstract
En este artículo se bosqueja la biografía y la obra literaria del escritor cántabro Telesforo de Trueba y Cosío, centrándose a continuación en su paso por la ciudad de Cádiz entre los años 1822-1825. En ese tiempo Trueba escribió y estrenó varias obrasteatrales, tradujo otras y llevó a cabo diversas actividades literarias de las que se hace un detallado análisis a partir de fuentes manuscritas, impresas y hemerográficas. Finalmente
se incluye una selección de poemas publicados en el Diario Mercantil de Cádiz y que guardan relación con Trueba.
