Abstract

 En el estudio de las diversas fonnas de sociabilidad practicadas en el siglo XIX, se toma como ejemplo de las mismas, el caso del Casino Gaditano. Se sitúa en su contexto histórico local y se ponen de manifiesto las características fundamentales de este tipo de sociedades, así como determinadas cuestiones reglamentarias. Se estudian los socios y el Casino mism o como un centro de reproducción ideológica y de poder, más aflá de simples connotaciones recreativas y de ocio.
