Abstract
The concern of Spanish novelists from the 19th Century for the national feeling leads them to defend what is Spanish as a symbol of absolute greatness and one of the means through which they intend to demonstrate that what is typically Spanish is as good, or even better, than what comes from abroad, it is fashion, clothing.
