The law of association in Morocco: The 2002 amendment. Introductory study and translation
Info
Abstract
In this article, the evolution of the Moroccan Law on Associations is analyzed. The focus is placed on the changes introduced by the Law 75-00 in 2002, which softened the most rigid aspects of the previous 1973 reform. It is concluded that the 2002 reform still leaves plenty of room for the authorities to oppose the establishment of any association or to ban their activities. This is despite the changes introduced concerning legal recognition, sanctions and the fact that associations can only be dissolved by court decision. As a complement to this study, the Law 75-00, which includes all the aforementioned modifications, is translated into Spanish.
