The construction of the "gaucho" dialect in the Río de la Plata
Abstract
The article examines the relationship between the so called «Gaucho» literature, the dialect upon which it was based and the intention that guided the authors, taking in consideration the first literary works written immediately before and after the Mayo Revolution (1910). It analyzes how the Spanish literary and linguistic patterns underwent a diffraction and adapted to the ideology of freedom and emancipation which ruled in the just liberated Colony.
